National Budget Over 80% Locally Financed

Under President Hichilema's fiscal reform agenda, Zambia's national budget has become over 80 percent locally financed — a historic milestone in the country's path to fiscal self-reliance and reduced dependence on external borrowing. This was achieved through enhanced domestic revenue mobilisation, with the Zambia Revenue Authority collecting K77.8 billion in the first half of 2025 alone, outperforming projections.
