Official welcoming ceremony during the U.S. Vice Presidential Visit to Zambia

President Hakainde Hichilema received Vice President Harris at State House with a ceremonial walkthrough of the grounds. Their bilateral talks focused on strengthening democratic governance, economic investment, climate resilience and public health initiatives across Africa. The trip also held personal significance for Harris, who visited Lusaka as a child when her maternal grandfather, Gopalan, worked in Zambia as an advisor on refugee resettlement during the late 1960s.
