2.5 Million Children Returned to School Under Free Education Policy

Since the introduction of the free education policy in 2022, over 2.5 million children who had previously dropped out of school returned to the classroom. The policy, which abolished all school fees from Grade 1 through Grade 12 in public schools, is widely regarded as one of the most transformative social interventions of the Hichilema administration, reversing decades of exclusion caused by the financial burden placed on families.
