Chimwemwe Level 1 Hospital Commissioned in Kitwe

President Hichilema officially commissioned the Chimwemwe Level One Hospital in Kitwe District, Copperbelt Province, on 22 August 2024. The 80-bed state-of-the-art healthcare facility was built by NMSI with funding support from the British government. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, which was attended by the Acting British High Commissioner to Zambia, Sam Waldock, President Hichilema expressed gratitude to the UK government for its longstanding support to Zambia health sector. He urged the local community to take ownership of the facility and protect it against vandalism, and reaffirmed the government dedication to delivering services that improve the lives of all Zambians, with a particular focus on ensuring that high quality healthcare is accessible to all.
