The recognition highlighted President Hichilema's success in restoring investor confidence, instituting fiscal prudence, reforming key institutions, revitalising the mining sector, and stabilising Zambia's economy. Economic growth was forecast at 5.8% in 2025 and 6.4% in 2026, with the mining sector expected to reach historic production and revenue levels.
